Line of Events
After decades of being alone, a wealthy family living in a salt mine encounters a stranger. Joshua Oppenheimer described the film as an exploration of whether we as human beings can ever reach a place where our guilt is too great to recover from our pasts.
Beautiful environmental setting (setting)
Satire set in a bunker and a singing musical? Okay, I’m confused, but intrigued.
It’s not science fiction
At least one or two good actors (especially Tilda Swindon), but they all play caricatures of snobs, helpers, working class people… There’s no backstory, no depth, no reasoning, and for some reason it seems like no one has even missed a meal after surviving something outside, even though she sings well.
The ending is perhaps the best part of this movie
Without spoiling anything, in 3 hours you can expect something like theater with singing and discovering backstories that you could probably have written for someone you hated (especially if you think global warming should be blamed solely on a few rich people).
