CIA agent Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real military advisors helped create more authentic gun control, house clearance, situational awareness, squad-based activities, etc. I was compelled to write a review because the writing, acting, and action are so good! I’m a reviewer and movie/series watcher who looks at things from the “glass half theory”. This means that I look at the positives first and then the negatives.
Amazing acting, dialogue, action!
I either like it or I don’t. There’s always a middle ground. "Lion" is not only far from average, it has it all! Zoe Saldana is sexy and beautiful, as is her boss, played by Nicole Kidman, both of whom are badass women in American espionage and the military. Both are America’s defense against global terrorism.
Both were top notch
The viewer also benefits from the fact that this is a cable TV series (Paramount) with a big movie budget. The production team doesn’t waste their budget, theirs is simplistic, practical and flawless execution of production values. As I mentioned in the title, it has all the makings of "24" and "Columbia"! Remember the TV show and the movie? I’m not against family issues and teenage drama.
It works better for me
As a father, I get it. I keep thinking that the terrorists will get to Jo’s (Zoe Saldana) family. (I hope not, but I’ve seen it happen) Of course, I haven’t finished the series yet. And I don’t have to write this review either. "Lioness" is very good and I highly recommend it.
I haven’t checked, but I really want a second season of Lioness!!!
This is one of the first reviews I’ve done and I have no problem with the content. My other reviewers on past classics and well-done movies/TV shows are obvious.
